Plans afoot to meet power needs of ryots, domestic consumers

Suryapet: The State government is going ahead with a clear plan to meet the power supply needs of both agriculture and domestic sectors.This was stated here on Monday by Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy after inaugurating six 33/11 sub-stations in Suryapet and Kodad constituencies, three each, costing Rs 9 crore.

The government, he asserted, was providing quality power to farmers. With the inauguration of a sub-station in Suryapet, its low-voltage problems would come to an end.

He sought cooperation of ryots in removing the automatic starters fixed to their motors, as they would result in power wastage. In this regard, Reddy said the department officials would release the guidelines.

In Kodad, the Minister launched sub-stations in Munagala and Anantagiri mandals. He laid foundation for 50 sub-stations in Suryapet district. He said these would be completed in one year. The government, Reddy declared, was aiming to provide 24-hour power supply to farmers. He advised them not to waste power.
