Manuguru: Irate customers who were denied cash after waiting for hours in queues at the Andhra Bank branch at Mondikunta village of Aswapuram mandal allegedly broke the glass panes of the building’s main gate on Wednesday.

A woman pensioner suffered injuries in the incident and was shifted to hospital. There was a large crowd of farmers, pensioners and traders at the bank after three holidays in a row. They found the cash in the bank was inadequate.

When The Hans India sought clarification, bank manager Vasanth Kumar said the crowd got angry as they were told by the staff that the amount as suggested by higher officials would be disbursed.
