Suryapet: Senior Congress leader and Former Minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy stated that Former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi strived hard for the welfare of poor and the progress of nation till her last breath.
On Friday, he attended “Maa Tujhe Salaam” programme organised by the youth Congress members of Suryapet unit and paid tributes to Indira Gandhi.
Addressing the gathering, Reddy listed out various welfare schemes implemented and reforms brought in by the Indira Gandhi government that include nationalisation of banks and others. “She remains forever in the hearts of citizens’ of this nation,” he exclaimed.
Underlining that Congress realised the dreams of Telangana people by granting separate statehood, Reddy said students played a key role in Telangana agitation but the present TRS government was making them suffer by not releasing fee dues and scholarships. He described youth Congress as heart of the party.
Stating that common man was left to suffer due to demonetisation, the Congress leader alleged that majority of black money hoarders were associated with BJP.Before the start of the meeting, the youth Congress leaders and workers took out a huge rally in the town.
