Nalgonda: South Central Railway (SCR) General manger Vinod Kumar Yadav stated that railways was giving top priority to its passengers’ safety and amenities.

As a part of annual inspection from Pagdipally to Guntur, the GM visited Valigonda, Ramannapet railway stations of Yadadri district, Gollnepally railway bridge of Valigonda where Delta express derailed in 2005 due to floods and also Nalgonda and Miryalaguda railway stations on Thursday.
Team of officials who accompanied Kumar Yadav during inspection checked the files of different sections randomly.
On the occasion, the GM received memoranda from various organisations and public representatives. He personally checked the infrastructure and status of railway quarters and cleanliness in and around the Nalgonda station.
Speaking to media in Nalgonda, the SCR GM informed that line between Mattampalli and Jhanphad railway stations of Suryapet would be completed by the end of March.
He further informed that the doubling and electrification works from Pagidipalli to Nallapadu were sanctioned. Recently, tenders were called for works and bound to be completed by 2019-20, he added.
Informing about the status of already sanctioned Nalgonda-Macherla railway line, Kumar Yadav said the State government proposed some changes in the alignment of the line, once the line resurvey completed, the report would be submitted to the superiors for approval.
After getting green signal from the respective authorities, the works of Nalgonda-Macherla railway line would be initiated, he added
Informing about the new projects in AP, he informed railway line between Nadikudi and Srikalahasthi was sanctioned and works would be carried out with 50-50 funds share of both State and Central governments.
A new line would be laid between Rompicherla and Piduguralla, he added.
Meanwhile, Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy met the SCR GM and submitted a memorandum with regard to the stop of Amaravathi express in Nalgonda and stop of all trains at Nagireddypalli station for the convenience of passengers from Nalgonda to Bhongir.
During the interaction, the MP enquired about the status of Mattampalli-Janpahad and Nalgonda-Macherla railway lines. He urged the GM to expedite and complete the works of two projects at the earliest for passengers’ convenience.
SCR officials, Nalgonda station master Bheema Shankar, BJP State leaders Goli Madhusudhan Reddy and Oruganti Ramulu, TRS leaders Burri Srinivas Reddy and Abbagoni Ramesh and others accompanied the SCR GM.
