Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao has said that the proposed Secretariat complex coming up at the Bison Polo Grounds would have ultramodern facilities.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the Minister said that the existing Secretariat doesn’t even has a facility to hold the Collectors’ meeting.

“The new Secretariat will bring several departments that are currently scattered all over the city to one place, thus easing the administration,” Tummala said, explaining the reason behind the government’s plans.

This apart, the government can avoid paying crores of rupees of rents, he added. Showing the blueprint of the proposed Secretariat, he said the Centre has given 38 acres and in lieu of this, the State government would give 590 acres.

“The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wants entire administration from one place which will avoid delay in the implementation of government’s decisions,” Tummala said, advising the Opposition parties to stop mud-slinging.

Mayor G Papa Lal, TSIDC Chairman Shaik Budan Baig, ZP Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, MLC Balasani Laxminarayana and Khammam Agriculture Market Committee Chairman RJC Krishna were among others present.
