People asked to develop competitive spirit
Legislator Jalagam Venkat Rao has said that education helps one to overcome financial difficulties. He took part in the International Literacy Day celebrations held at Old Kothagudem circle here on Friday. Cultural programmes were organised where women danced to Bathukamma numbers and displayed their singing skills.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the State government was spending crores of rupees towards education. “The state is in 32nd position in the country in literacy.
The district stands in 6th position in the state. Everyone should strive to bring the district to No 1 position. There should be spirit of competition.
Knowing new aspects would enable one to improve his/her subject knowledge. Skill development centre will be setup,” he added.
MPP B Kosli, Municipal Chairperson Puli Geetha, Adult Education Officer Nageswara Rao, Mandal Education Officer Venkataramaiah, ward members and others were present.
