Saddala Cheruvu to get tourism makeover

Suryapet: Suryapet district would be developed in all aspects in next two years, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy has said. On Tuesday, the Minister distributed Bathukamma sarees at the Market Yard in Suryapet.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish said earlier rulers of Suryapet terrified the businessmen and involved in corruption. However, for the last three years, people were living a peaceful life.

Informing that Saddala Cheruvu of the town would be developed as a tourist spot for denizens, he said plans were afoot to construct the model vegetable and meat market for the convenience of people.

“Government decided to distribute Bathukamma sarees to bring cheers to the families of poor on the occasion Dasara festival,” he said, asking the opposition parties to stop hue and cry over the saree distribution and asked them to play a constructive role in the development of the State.

He listed out various schemes introduced by the government for the welfare of people in the last three years. District Collector Surendra Mohan, Municipal Chairperson Ganduri Pravallika, Market Committee Chairman Y Venkateshwarlu, District Library chairman Srinivas Goud and others attended the programme.
