Bhongir: Telangana Joint Action Committee Chairman Professor Kodandaram felt that government should prepare and release job calendar for filling vacancy posts to address the unemployment issue in the State. Kodandaram attended a meeting held by the JAC members at Yadagirigutta mandal headquarters on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, the JAC chief said students, who firmly stood for the cause of separate Telangana, were now in a dejected mood with state government delaying release of job notifications and filling of vacant posts.
Stating that Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has filled only 15,000 posts of the 1.15 lakh vacant posts, he demanded the government to issue job notifications for filling the vacancies. “The students who fought against Andhra rulers for separate Telangana are now fighting against their own rulers for jobs,” Kodandaram said, informing that on behalf of unemployed youth, the TJAC had decided to conduct a huge meeting, demanding jobs, on November 30 in Hyderabad. He urged the youth and all opposition parties to take part in the meeting and help mount pressure on the State government.
Alleging that allocation of Rs 48,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha and Rs 80,000 crore for redesigning of Kaleshwaram project was to benefit contractors for kickbacks, the JAC chief slammed the government for gagging the voices of people who were staging democratic protests for genuine reasons.
On this occasion, leaders of Congress, CPI and CPI-ML New Democracy met Kodandaram and extended their support to JAC’s Hyderabad meeting. Later, Kodandaram took the darshan of Lord Laxminarasimha Swamy at Bala Alayam. After performing special puja, he was blessed by the temple priests.
