Khammam: Special Chief Secretary of Revenue Department B R Meena suggested the Collectors to identify the government, Wakf and forest lands during the ongoing land survey works and take steps to protect them.

Meena along with Additional Secretary in Chief Minister’s Office Smitha Sabharwal, Mission Director of Land Reforms Updation Vakati Karuna and Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department Umar Jaleel held a video conference from Hyderabad with the Collectors to discuss the progress of land survey works on Wednesday.

Addressing the Collectors, Meena suggested them to complete works within the deadline by going ahead with perfect planning.

“Take necessary steps for completing works as early as possible. After the survey, conduct Gram Sabhas in all villages and announce the survey details,” Meena advised.

Directing the officials to identify and protect the government, Wakf and forest lands, the Special Secretary observed that some problems were arising due to lack of coordination between forest and revenue departments in some villages.

Smitha Sabharwal informed that the government was going to sanction Rs 4,000 per acre and Rs 8,000 for two crops to the farmer from next agriculture season. “Keeping this in view, the officials must collect proper details of lands that are under cultivation,” she said.

District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar, Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, District Forest Officer Sunil and others were present during the conference.
