Nalgonda: Politicians, officials and leaders of Dalit organisations paid floral tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar on his death anniversary in the district on Wednesday.

In Nalgonda, the Government Whip Palla Rajeshwar Reddy garlanded the statue of Ambedkar at DEO office on Devarakonda road. He informed that the State government was following the footsteps of Ambedkar for upliftment of Dalits and other oppressed sections of the society. He listed out the various government schemes designed for strengthening Dalits in the society.

Ambedkar’s dreams could be achieved only through collective efforts by all sections of the people, he underlined.In Miryalaguda town, MP Gutha Sukender Reddy along with local MLA Bhaskar Rao paid rich tributes to Ambedkar at a statue located in the town. Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that the ideology of legendary leader is universal and is advisable to follow for creating equality in the society.

In Suryapet, leaders of both ruling and opposition parties paid tributes to Ambedkar and garlanded his statue located at Khammam cross roads in the town. Former Minister and Congress State leader Ramreddy Damodar Reddy after paying the floral tributes to Ambedkar, informed that Dr BR Ambedkar being a victim of inequality himself, he fought for the progress and welfare of the neglected sections till his last breath.

In Bhongir, officials, politicians and leaders of Dalit organisations paid homage to Ambedkar at his statue located near the bus stand. Meanwhile, the ruling TRS party and Opposition Parties’ Congress, BJP, TDP, CPI and CPM leaders garlanded the pictures of Ambedkar at their party offices in erstwhile Nalgonda district and recalled his contributions to the nation. The Dalit organisations also conducted free meals distributions and blood donation camps across the three districts.
