Mahbubnagar: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari promised to provide Rs 10 crores for upgrading Government Junior College for Girls in Mahbubangar district for the financial year 2017-18. He held a whirlwind tour of the district on Wednesday. He visited Palamuru University and inaugurated Science Block, Botany Lab, English Language Center and Health centres in the university campus.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said the earlier governments were confined only to setting up of universities and did not focus on the provision of basic amenities, because of which the students could not get better results. Later, Srihari visited MVS and NTR Degree Colleges and inaugurated the Rastria Uchhata Siksha Abhiyan centres constructed at a cost of Rs 140 lakhs.

The main objective of these centres is to provide basic educational amenities for the students to upgrade their skills and knowledge. While interacting with girl students at NTR Degree College for Women, the Deputy Chief Minister advised the students to work hard and prepare for competitive exams with a planning. “It is not touch to bag jobs or crack competitive exams if the students study with a proper planning. The government will provide all its support for the students for setting them a better future path,” said the Deputy CM.

Srihari CM was impressed by the excellent performance of Brighter Minds students trained at KGBV Moosapet. A 10th class student Pavani surprised the Deputy Chief Minister by spelling the words written by the Minister blind folded. Impressed by her excellence, he gifted Rs 10,000 as prize money.
