During the 2014 polls, TRS supremoK Chandrashekar Rao promised the voters to set up KothagudemSchool of Mines as a special university. Later, the Higher Education Council and a team of professors held special meetings to study the issue from all the angles. Subsequently, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari announced that an exercise in right earnest would begin during the Assembly session to be held in next March.
