Kothagudem: Asha workers on Monday staged a dharna in front of Collector office for demanding the government to hike salaries. Hundreds of Asha Workers have participated in Dharna.

They demanded the government for sanctioning the minimum salary of Rs18,000 per month. The dharna was organised by CITU leaders. On the occasion, the Union District General Secretary A Satyanarayana addressed the gathering, he said the government is not supporting the Asha workers and pending salaries are not yet released. He also said the government is not interested to solve the problems of the workers.

Earlier, the Asha workers protest a rally at the main centres. After the dharna, workers submitted the memorandum to the Collector. CITU leaders M V Apparao, T Anil, Ramana and working women district convenor G Padma participated.
