Kothagudem: As part of its efforts to offer better education on the lines of corporate schools, the State government is getting ready to offer internet services in some of the institutions. Already, government teachers are being trained in this aspect.

For this purpose, the government has selected 200 schools in Khammam and 103 schools in Kothagudem districts. These institutions are to get latest technical know-how as part of which the Mandal Education Officers have been given Jio SIM cards and routers.

These institutions can use internet facility for availing themselves of digital classes for three months. During this period, the students can secure any information needed for their projects within minutes. In case of government high schools with more than 100 students, the teachers would be free from facing problems in getting international facilities, as all details of schools are being made available on internet.

District Education Officer D Vasanti told The Hans India that the department was ready to provide internet connectivity in the government schools. She said already Jio SIM cards and routers have been handed over to them. As many as 34,591 students, including 21,079 of 200 schools in Khammam district, and 13,512 of 103 schools in Kothagudem are to avail the facility.

She stated that already teachers of these schools have been trained. The aim of the exercise was to provide quality education to the students on par with corporate ones. The DEO said soon these government schools would have biometric facility.
