Gadwal: The district officials of Excise and Prohibition department organised a seminar to create awareness among rural folks about ill-effects of gudumba and adultered toddy, in Jammichedu village on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini stated that as part of State government’s initiative to make the State gudumba-free, the district administration has organised the seminar to create awareness among people about the bad effects of gudumba and thereby bring desired change in them.

“For those who who stopped making illicit liquor (Gudumba), the government is providing alternative self-employment opportunities to rehabilitate them by providing financial support and subsidies under various schemes,” the Collector said. Back ward Commission member Dr Anjaneya Goud, SP Vijay Kumar, Excise official Madhu, police and members of Eediga community took part in the seminar programme.
