Khammam: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC) demanded judicial probe into the Tekulapalli encounter that took place on December 14.

Addressing the JAC members, Committee leader Y Vinay Kumar said the nine members who were killed in the encounter were neither Maoists nor their sympathisers, and had no links with any Maoist groups. However, the police, by portraying them as Maoists, killed them in the encounter, he alleged.

“All the dead belong to Backward, Schedule Tribes and Schedule Castes. Only for the sake of rewards and awards, the police officials killed them,” he alleged.

Demanding a judicial probe into the entire episode, the JAC demanded ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh for family of each victim. JAC leaders Vemuri Bhaskar, Bhadru Naik, Satyanarayana, Ramesh, Nagesh, Kittu, P Venkatesham and Shankar were present along with others.
