Nalgonda: Ruling party leaders in the erstwhile Nalgonda district __ who are expecting nominated posts in governing bodies of market committees in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri districts __ seem to be a disappointed lot with the government delaying the process.

Even though the government has decided on constituting governing bodies for market yards factoring time period and reservations, there are still a few market yards in the Nalgonda district where governing bodies have not been constituted.

In Nalgonda district, there are eight agriculture markets. Out of these the government has constituted governing bodies to Chityal, Nakrekal, Nidmanoor, Halia and Chandur markets where as many as 70 leaders of the party got appointments with 14 members in each committee. Still, the governing bodies for the biggest market yards in the state Miryalaguda, Devarakonda, VT Colony (Mall) and Nalgonda are yet to be constituted. The delay is attributed to group politics.

Of the five market yards in Suryapet district, governing bodies were constituted for Tirumalagiri and Kodad market yards which fall in the Suryapet constituency represented by minister G Jagadish Reddy. It is learnt that a GO for constituting Neredcherla market yard committee was issued a couple of days ago while the governing body of Huzurnagar Agriculture Market yard was not yet constituted.

In Yadadri district, except Choutuppal Agriculture Market Yard, governing bodies were constituted for Aler, Bongiri, Valigonda and Mothkur market yards. Interestingly, governing body of Aler was renewed for second time and Mothkur governing body was renewed for another six months.

On condition of anonymity, one of the people’s representative of TRS of Nalgonda district said that TRS leader Harish Rao, who is looking after Irrigation and Marketing portfolios, is more focused on irrigation and ignoring market committees. He advised the government and the Minister that it was high time to constitute the pending governing bodies to all market yards to help the framers and to keep the leaders of the party happy with nominated posts.
