Khammam: As many as 1,188 criminals were identified during the ‘Comprehensive Survey of Criminals’ conducted under commissionerate limits, informed Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal.

In a press statement released here on Wednesday, the CP said all details pertained to identified criminals would be uploaded on the TSCOP App besides geo-tagging the houses of the criminals to keep a vigil on them.

“The survey will be highly useful to prevent crimes in coming up days,” the Commissioner added. On the very first day of the survey, some inconvenience was created due to lack of proper awareness on the exercise. But in later stages, it was conducted peacefully, added the top cop.

As per the records, about 11,147 members were identified who were indulged in various types of criminal activities under Khammam Commissionerate limits from 2008 to 2017. Of them, about 2,097 were identified who were committing crimes regularly for the last 10 years. And among them, some were found dead and some leading normal lives. However, about 1,188 members were still indulging in criminal activities who were now under strict vigil, informed the Commissioner.
