SCCL workers to hold one-day token strike on February 14

Kothagudem: AITUC, INTUC, BMS and CITU decided to observe a one-day token strike on February 14 demanding Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to implement the promises made to the Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

In a meeting held at Godavarikhani on Tuesday, CITU General Secretary and Singareni Collieries Employees Union leader M Narasimha Rao told The Hans India that a phase-wise demonstration programme of the workers, beginning January 25, will culminate in a token strike on February 14.

In all mining areas of the SCCL, workers will observe a one-day dharna in front of the GM’s office on Jan 25. A notice will be served on the SCCL management soon.

The meeting also resolved to mobilise the SCCL workers for the proposed agitation programme undertaking visits to various mining areas. He called upon SCCL workers hold meetings at mines and their respective departments on a large scale to press for the implementation of the promises made by the Chief Minister.
