Man booked for selling his daughter
The district DCP, Ramachandra Reddy said that strict action will be taken against those who sell and purchase infants. He said this at a press meet at his office here on Friday. A case was filed on Raj Kumar for selling his baby girl, he added.

According to the DCP, Raj Kumar and his wife Mamata Devi of Bihar State, are living in housing board colony in Bhongir. Raj Kumar works at a chairs manufacturing company. Mamata gave birth to their third daughter on December 27 last year. He sold his third daughter to Md Mubarak and Shamina, a couple from Jabilpur for Rs 25,000 on January 3, this year.
Acting on a tip-off, police went to Mubarak house and handed over the baby to ICDS officials. A case was filed on both Raj Kumar and Mubarak couple. ACP Jitender Reddy, town CI Shankar Goud and others were present during the press meet.
