Khammam: North Zone Inspector General of Police (IGP) Y Nagi Reddy inaugurated tow truck in Khammam on Monday. To maintain the ever-increasing traffic in Khammam city and to keep a check on vehicle owners, who were violating traffic rules, the traffic police had taken several steps like locking vehicles parked in no parking zones and capturing the vehicle photos that violate rules and imposing penalty. They also established parking lines and auto bylines and single line parking at shopping malls.

Keeping the traffic snags in the city, District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar and Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal took initiation for introducing tow truck to clear the traffic problems for the convenience of the commuters. With the funds released by the Collector and VVC Motors, the truck was purchased and the IGP had launched it here under the Commissionerate limits on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal warned that those vehicles, which are parked in no parking zones for several hours and violate traffic rules creating problems to commuters in the city, will be removed from that place by the tow truck and necessary actions would be taken against the vehicle owners. Additional DCP K Suresh Kumar, Traffic ACP J Sada Niranjan and VVC Motors owner V Rajendra Prasad were present along with other police personnel.
