Nalgonda: Follower of Mahatma Gandhi and chief of ‘India on Move Organisation’ Acharya Ajith Kumar felt that following the principals of Gandhi was only way to achieve progress for the country.
On the occasion of 70th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Tuesday, he visited Gandhi temple located at Peddakaparthi village of Chityal mandal in the district. Speaking to media after paying tributes to Gandhi, Kumar described Gandhi as ‘Father of the Globe’ as his thoughts were immortal. Stating that common people have been suffering with unrest, robberies, attacks, violence and extremism, he advised the youth to follow the footsteps of Gandhi to establish peace in the society.
Meanwhile, school children of Peddakaparthi and surrounding villages visited the Gandhi temple and paid tributes to the Father of the Nation. Similarly, leaders of political parties, officials paid floral tributes to Gandhi and observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the legendary leader in Nalgonda, Yadadri and Suryapet districts. Fruits and free meal distribution programmes to the poor and patients were conducted by Vasavi Club in erstwhile Nalgonda district to mark the day.
