Gadwal: The district administration is planning to conduct booth level camps on February 4 and 11 across all constituencies in the district to enrol new voters and upgrade old voters list.

While informing this District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini said, “We are launching booth-level voters’ enrolment camps on the said dates to upgrade the voters list. People, particularly the young voters, who have attained 18 years of age, must utilise this opportunity and get themselves enrolled as voters.

Similarly, for those who wish to get their names changed or upgrade their addresses can use this opportunity as it is the last chance for voters to change their details for this year,” informed the Collector.

Earlier, the Collector attended a video conference with Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Anup Singh, who advised the Collector on various measures to be taken for the preparation of final voters list in the district. The Collector also explained the CEO about the initiatives taken by the district administration for creating awareness on importance of vote and citizen role in electing the government.

“We have already completed the draft final list of voters and got them printed and handed over to the booth-level officials. Now it is the turn of public to check and verify if their details are printed correctly or not. If there are any discrepancies or if any new voters have missed their names, they can utilise this opportunity to upgrade their details in the final voters list,” informed the Collector.

Saini further added that those who were born before January 1, 2000 were eligible to get themselves enrolled as millennium voters. If any changes were required, the persons concerned can give their representations to booth-level officials by March 5 and the same could be incorporated in the final list, which would be finalised and the entire data would be computerised by March 15. The final draft list of voters after all corrections will be printed by March 22, informed the Collector.
