Tummala meets Gadkari, submits `190-cr proposals for TS development

New Delhi: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, accompanied by MPs B Vinod Kumar, Jeethender Reddy, Boora Narsaiah Goud, Sitaram Naik and Nagesh, besides some State officials, called on Union Minister Nitin Gadkari here on Tuesday. The Ministers discussed development of highways in the State.
Tummala handed over a letter to Gadkari listing the pending permissions of the Centre. The letter sought issue of notification of national highways in the State as announced by the Centre, sanction of increased Central grants for the highways and conversion of 11 State highways.
The Roads and Buildings Minister submitted proposals costing Rs 190.10 crore for State’s development. They include Rs 59 crore for Bhainsa-Peddapalli road (Nirmal district), Rs 51 crore for Lakshminagar-Lakshmipuram road, Rs 34.7 crore for Mulakalapalli-Venkatapuram road(both in Bhadradri-Kothagudem), Rs 12.4 crore for Khanapur-Gannavaram road, Rs 33 crore for Mittapalli-Utkoor Road via Peddakorikonda (both in Khammam).
Tummala also sought forest clearance for road widening works on Nakrekal-Mallampet highway in the Jamanlapalli-Mangalavaripet section and permission for the expansion of 167 Jadcharla-Devarakonda national highway costing Rs 114.23 crore. He urged the release of funds for the outer ring road of 338 km, linking Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhuvanagiri,Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Chevella and Kandi.
