Poll awareness meet for Gadwal textile bodies on March 21

Gadwal: The district administration is planning to conduct an election awareness programme for members of Managing Committees of Handloom and Textile associations in Gadwal on March 21.

With the present Managing Committees of Handloom and Textile Committees in Jogulamaba Gadwal expired on February 10, the district administration upon the orders from the Secretary of Department of Handlooms and Textiles, Hyderabad has decided to conduct an awareness programme with regard to fresh elections to governing bodies of Handloom, Wool, Silk, Garments and Textile associations in the district.

At present, the presidents of existing managing committees of respective associations are being allowed to serve as the in-charge persons to the managing committees since February 11, onwards until the next elections are conducted.

“As per the orders of Department of Handlooms and Textiles, we are conducting an election awareness programmes to all members of managing committees of the Handloom, Wool, Silk, Garments and Textile associations on March 21, at 2’o clock at Handlooms and Textile Department Office in the district. All the managers of the associations, in-charge persons of managing committees of the associations’ and presidents must attend the meeting,” informed MD Jaheeruddin, Assistant Director Handlooms and Textiles department, Gadwal.

The meeting is expected to focus on various issues relating to conduct of elections and would also give in detail information about rules and regulations of the elections. A detailed circular will also be released with clear notification of the elections soon, informed the official.
