Khammam: Communist Party of India-Marxist politburo member Brinda Karat has said that the NDA government led by Narendra Modi has become a puppet in the hands of corporate houses.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Indian Politics – Communists’ role’ here on Sunday, she said that the BJP government while working for the benefit of corporate houses is making mockery of the democracy.

“BJP and RSS were helping divisive forces to disrupt communal harmony in the country,” she alleged. She said that the Centre’s ‘anti-people’ policies had widened the gap between rich and poor.

Taking advantage of the full majority it has, the BJP is implementing whatever it wants. Moreover, Modi’s policies were favouring the corporate houses to increase their assets, she alleged, referring to Ambanis, Adanis, Mallyas, Neerav Modi etc.

Modi owes an explanation to the country on the scam, in which Neerav Modi made off with Rs 11,000 crore cheating Punjab National Bank, she said. she criticised Modi government for its failure to waive Rs 75,000 crore farmer loans in the country.

CPI-M State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, Prof K Nageshwar, AP Vithal, district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao, State secretariat member P Sudarshan Rao, G Ramulu and State committee member Ponnam Venkateswara Rao were among others present.
