The sports authority of Telangana State (SATS) along with District Youth and Sports Department (DYSO) of Mahbubnagar are planning to organise 21 summer camps in May this year in different mandals across the erstwhile Mahbubnagar.

As part of this, the DYSO urged the school children, both boys and girls, from different government schools to utilise the opportunity and make use of the summer holidays in developing not only their sporting skills and enjoy the recreational facilities, but at the same time keep abreast with their studies during the summer camps.
According to Satya Vaani, DYSO Mahbubnagar, this year the State government is releasing Rs 1 lakh to each summer camp to be held in different mandals across the district. About 16 summer camps will be held by SATS in the rural areas, while five summer camps in urban areas, which will be organised by DYSO.
“I hope all the school children, both boys and girls, will take part in this year’s summer camps and improve their sporting skills and grow as best sporting personalities in their careers. Till now we have received 20 applications from different people who expressed their willingness in organising these summer camps. Of them we have rejected four applications on various reasons. Over all we will be organising 21 summer camps in Mahbubnagar in May this year,” said the DYSO.
Of the Rs 1 lakh to be released to each summer camp, Rs 40,000 will be paid to camp in-charges, another Rs 40,000 will be spent on buying sports equipment needed for the camp, while the remaining Rs 20,000 will be spent for organising the summer camp.
During the summer camps, the school students will be trained in athletics and sports like Soft ball, basketball, handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball. The training will be provided free of cost for the above sports. However, there are other sports like swimming, multi gym fitness which are being provided on payment of fee and play category for the students.
This year, the District School Education Department in coordination with the DYSO and SATS are organising summer camps at Model Basic High School, Mahbubnagar. KGBV Hanwada, Mahbubnagar Grammar Highschool, KGBV Nawabpet, KGBV Maganoor, ZPHS Makthal, Shabad Government High School, ZPHS(b) Masigunlapally, ZPHS(b) Mohammadabad, ZPHS (b) Kollampally, ZPHS Jakler, ZPHS (b) Koilsagar, volleyball academy in Jadcherla and KGBV CC Kunta.
