Congress party officials spokesperson Duddilla Durga Prasad paid floral tributes to the portrait of Jyotirao Phule at Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan here.Speaking on the occasion, Durga Prasad lauded the efforts of the Jyothirao Phule in promoting education for the downtrodden.
By establishing Sathyashodak Samiti, Jyotirao Phule strived hard to drive away the inequality from the society. Jyotirao Phule created awareness among the women and promoted their education, he added.Congress party leader Potla Nageshwar Rao exhorted to youth to follow in the footsteps of the great leader.
