​Mahbubnagar: The district administration in coordination with Health Department and Red Cross Society of Mahbubnagar is planning to open a day care centre soon at Mahbubnagar General Hospital for thalassemia and haemophilia patients. Announcing this, District Collector Ronald Rose said on Thursday the people, who are suffering from rare blood diseases like thalassemia and haemophilia, would be provided dedicated care and treatment in the centre.

While holding a review meeting with the Government Hospital officials in his chamber, the Collector said Mahbubnagar district has been selected for setting up a day care centre in the State. As part of this, the officials are preparing the ground and getting ready to launch the centre on June 2 on the occasion of Telangana Formation day. It is expected that the day care centre will be inaugurated by Health Minister C Laxma Reddy.

Dr Rajani, District Medical and Health Officer, Ram Kishan, Superintendent of Government General Hospital Mahbubnagar, Dr. Suman Jain from Thalassemia Society, V Rama Rao from Haemophilia Society, Dr Nandita from National Health Mission, Dr Vijayashanti, Lions Club Chairman A Natarajan and others took part in the review meeting.
