Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Thursday praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for introducing the Rythu Bandhu scheme. The scheme would bring happiness in the lives of farmers. The Chief Minister has fulfilled his promise to make the farmer a king, he said. 

Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Thursday praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for introducing the Rythu Bandhu scheme. The scheme would bring happiness in the lives of farmers. The Chief Minister has fulfilled his promise to make the farmer a king, he said.

The Minister, while launching the scheme at Arempula village under Khammam rural mandal, distributed the cheques and pattadar passbooks to the farmers. The Minister also participated in programmes in which he distributed cheques and passbooks to farmers at Munigepalli village under Kusumanchi mandal and Mundrajupalli village under Nelakondapalli manal.

Speaking on the occasion, Nagewswara Rao said the Chief Minister always thought about the welfare of the farmers and introduced many schemes to make the farmer a king in the State. The Rythu Bandhu scheme is one of a kind in the country.

The Minister said the government has already been providing 24-hour free power and distributing fertilisers and seeds to the farmers. The government had already completed several irrigation projects and some more are under constructions, he said.

Under the supervision of the District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar, the employees of Revenue Department worked hard and made the launch of the scheme a success.

Lok Sabha member Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, FCC Committee Convenor Nallamala Venkateshwar Rao, District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijaya Babu, ZP Chief Executive Officer M Nagesh, ATMA Chairman M Yella Reddy, ZP Co-option member Md. Moulana, Nelakondapalli Agriculture Market Committee Chairman Shakamuri Ramesh, Joint Director of Agriculture Department Jhansi Lakshmi Rani, Rural Development Officer T Purnachandra and Local public representatives were present along with others.
