​Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Thursday directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for celebrating the State Formation Day on June 2 on a grand scale.

Speaking at a review meeting here, the District Collector instructed the officials to make arrangements at Pavilion Grounds and at Police Parade Grounds where the celebrations would be held.

Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao will launch the celebrations first at Pavillion Grounds by paying rich tribute to the of Telangana Martyrs stupa.

The Collector directed the Revenue Divisional Officer Purnchandram and Urban Tahsildar Srilatha to make arrangements for conducting celebrations in sync with Telangana tradition and culture. Cultural activities will be organbised at Sardar Patel stadium. Food stalls of ‘Telangana Ruchulu’ along with decorating all government office buildings and main centres in the city with lights.

The Collector ordered the officials to follow the protocol strictly while sending invitations for State Formation Day Celebrations to the peoples’ representatives and also during their participation in the celebrations.

City Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Jha, Chief Conservator of the Forest Department Sunil S Rafath, ZP Cheif Executive Officer M Nagesh, DRDO Indumathi, the District Employment Officer Vijetha, the District Panchayat Officer Srinivas Reddy, the District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao, the District Public Relation Officer Srinivas Rao, District Sports Authority officer Parandhama Reddy and the District in-charge Revenue Officer Madan Gopal were present at the programme.
