Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy described Suryapet as the place known for its religious harmony. The Minister along with MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav was laying foundation stone for renovation works of Pedda Masjid with an estimated cost of Rs 40 lakh in Suryapet town Speaking on the occasion, the State government was secular and treating all religions equally.

The governments in the past indulged in vote bank politics. The TRS government was taking all measures for the development of Muslims. The Minister said the State government was distributing clothes to the poor during festivals of all religions. The government ensure that there is perfect harmony between people of different religions.

He promised to ensure that Rs 10 lakh more would be provided to provide facilities in the Pedda Masjid. Muncipal Chairperson G Pravallika, District Library Chairman N Srinivas, Agriculture Market Committee Chairman Y Venkatesh Warlu and others participated in the programme.
