Munugodu: Communist Party of India (CPI) national General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy here on Friday accused the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre of encouraging communal politics and instigating attacks on Dalits across the country.
Attending as a chief guest at the CPI Munugodu Assembly constituency meeting, Sudhakar Reddy recalled the massacre of Muslims Gujarat when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister. Now the attacks on Muslims and Dalit had been on upward swing in the name of cow protection, he said.
Prices of petrol and diesel had been increased 17 times in the last four years. The economic policies being pursued by the Centre had led to all-round misery for the people, he pointed out. The Central government should be held responsible for the unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The CPI leader advised the party activists to strengthen the party in Telangana State by organising protest demonstrations to highlight the government’s failures in protecting the rights of the workers.
Former MLAs Palla Venkat Reddy, Ujjini Naryana Rao, Ujjini Ratnakar Rao, Godha Sriramulu and a large number of party workers and sympathizers participated in the meeting.
