Gadwal: Congress MLA from Alampur S A Sampath here on Friday disagreed with the statement by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that the government would provide water for irrigation to Gattu and other parts of Gadwal region.
“Earlier last year KCR had promised many things to Alampur during his visit to Gadwal during Krishna Pushkaralu. But till date not a single promise has been fulfilled. During the past four years KCR had done nothing for the people of Alampur and Gadwal.
His recent meeting in Gadwal is only to get political mileage in the name of Gattu project. It is aimed at only belittling the Gadwal MLA D K Aruna and highlighting the local TRS candidate,” said Sampath Kumar.
Sampath Kumar said he was illegally placed under house arrested during the Chief Minister’s visit. The police fear that the Congress activists would disturb the meeting. “I only wanted to question the Chief Minister as to why he had failed to fulfil his promises,” he said.
“I appreciate that the Chief Minister has at least now thought of welfare of Tummilla and Gattu projects in the district. But what I would like to request the CM is to make it clear when these projects will be completed,” he added.
