Mahbubnagar: The Communist Party of India district has alleged that the quality of double bed room houses being constructed in the district is not up to the standard. CPI district secretary Paramesh Goud along with party worker carried out inspection of double bedroom houses at Veerannapeta site on Thursday.

The CPI leader alleged that the quality of construction is not up to the mark as the contractors are using low quality materials for doors, windows and pipes.

The CPI leader alleged that even the site selection for the construction of the double bedroom houses is not at all suitable for residential purposes. Even though the government is spending thousands of crores of rupees of public money on the construction, it would be a waste of money if quality is compromised. “The quality of double bedroom houses is not up to the mark.

The contractors are installing low quality material because they feel constructing double bedroom in a budget of just Rs. 5 lakhs is very difficult and they will have to compromise on certain quality aspects,” opined the CPI district secretary.

It is also alleged that the state government is claiming big publicity on the double bedroom houses while the work done on this is very meagre as only 2-3 major constituency people are being given around 300 to 500 houses which is not at all enough to the public.

“In Mahabubnagar there are more than 20,000 poor people who are living without properhousing. But the government is just giving 200-300 houses to each constituency and this is not at all adequate. But the government is making big publicity as if they have given double bedrooms to each and every eligible person,” observed the district secretary.
