Mahbubnagar: Former Minister Nagam Jandardhan Reddy, who joined the Congress party recently, is reportedly facing resistance within the party. His entry was opposed by the Congress leaders in Nagarkurnool district. It may be recalled that ZPTC member Nagamani openly opposed Janaradhan Reddy’s entry into the party.

Former Minister and Gadwal MLA D K Aruna and her followers have reportedly not been seeing eye to eye with Janardhan Reddy. Nagamani, who is also Congress party Nagarkurnool district unit president, has asked her followers not to attend any programme organised by Janardhan Reddy.

“Janardhan Reddy and his followers were TDP for more than two to three decades in Nagarkurnool. He was a hardcore opponent of the Congress party. His entry into the Congress has caused internal as no one from Nagarkurnool is happy with the high commands decision to admit him into the party. The decision of higherups in the party has badly disturbed the loyal party activists in Nagarkurnool. Kuchkulla Damodar Reddy, who is seeking ticket to contest, is now unhappy over Janardhan Reddy’s entry.

These leaders want to show their dissent to the party high command that everything is not right in the Nagarkurnool district unit Congress party,” said a source close to party leaders in the district. These developments seem to have caused anxiety and agitation to Janardhan Reddy and his followers. Neither he nor his followers put a bold face on these developments. They are exuding confidence that the party will field him in thenext elections.
