Man held for sexually harassing daughters

Mantralayam (Kurnool): Police arrested Shamshu Basha, an ice cream vendor, of Kowthalam village in Mantralayam mandal for sexually harassing his own daughters and a criminal case was filed against him. According to the complaint, the accused has been sexually harassing his two daughters for the last three years in an inebriated condition. He used to attack the neighbouring women also at times. The daughters brought the issue to the notice of the Indira Kranti Patham (IKP) members who with the help of police and counselors, conducted counseling. However, the accused did not change his attitude. When the matter was brought to the notice of the home minister, the police were asked to arrest him. DRDA project director, IKP members, Grama Aikya Sangham and Mahila Samakhya went to the village and inquired into the incident. They gave an immediate relief of Rs. 50,000 to the victims.
