Kurnool : For the last two months a number of people have been bringing the land problems, pattadar passbooks and other problems to the notice of the district collector during the dial your collector programme. Noticing the disturbing trend, District Collector C Sudarsan Reddy directed the District Revenue Officer Venugopal Reddy to instruct the tahsildars concerned to go through the problems and solve them.

The Dial Your Collector programme on Monday received as many as 31 petitions by phone. The collector assured them that the steps would be taken to solve the problems. "The tahsildars should strive to solve the problems within 45 days after receiving the complaints regarding the land problems," he added.

The collector expressed concern over the repeated calls from the petitioners on the same problem for the last two months and said a meeting of tahsildars should be organized on May 25 to discuss the issue.Venkata Swamy of Gonegandla mandal said that several people were siphoning out water from Tungabhadra lower canal with the help of motors. The collector said that the motors would be seized.Usman Saheb of the same mandal said that the work was being provided on alternative weeks under NREGS. The collector instructed the DWAMA officials to provide work every day.

A Timmappa from Yemmiganur said that the vidya volunteers were not paid honorarium regarding the census work. The collector said that the amounts would be paid as soon as they receive from the government. The collector instructed the civil supplies officials to verify the complaints against ration shop dealers of Vengarayuni Konda and Togarachedu villages.Kanakadurga of Kondapet of Done appealed to the district collector to give her employment as an accountant in the KGBV school and she had already applied for the post.

The collector told her that if there was vacancy and she was qualified, her application would be considered.Addl Joint Collector Rama Swamy, DRO Venugopal Reddy,ZPCEO Suryaprakash, CPO Anand Naik, Housing PD Rama Subbu and others were present.
