Following complaints of poor drinking water supply a Panchayat Secretary was suspended Kurnool: In response to the 'Dial Your Collector' programme here on Monday, the Collectorate was flooded with calls from people all over the district.A Responding to call from the villagers of Vemugodu village in Gonegandla mandal, District Collector C Sudarsan Reddy instructed the officials concerned to re-erect the electric pole and resume water supply to the village.A District Revenue Officer Venugopal Reddy and Zilla Parishat Chief Executive Officer Surya Prakash were also present at the programme. The district collector instructed the officials concerned to respond immediately and send rejoinders whenever water problems were published in newspaper or telecast in electronic media. Following a complaint, the district collector instructed the district panchayat officer Sobha Swarupa Rani to immediately take departmental action against the panchayat secretary Eeranna of Jampapuram village in Kosigi mandal since he was not attending to the duties for the last two months when the people were suffering due to water problem. "If he is a local candidate, transfer him immediately," he said. Ex-serviceman Sivaji Singh of Penchikalapadu village of Guduru mandal informed the collector that when he applied under ex-serviceman quota for the government land in the Survey No. 116B in the outskirts of the village, the tahsildar had allotted the land to somebody else. He appealed to the collector to allocate land under ex-serviceman quota. The villagers of Kuppagallu village in Adoni mandal informed the collector that the village overhead tank was filed up with water without cleaning it. They appealed to the collector to give instructions to issue instructions to the panchayat secretary to clean the overhead tank before releasing water to people. Anushya of Pyapili mandal appealed to the district collector to effect changes in the ration card as they have migrated from Karivena village in Atmakuru mandal to Pyapili. The collector told her that necessary instructions were given to the officials to change the address on the card and it could be done through Mee Seva centre. The villagers of Kalva in Orvakallu mandal informed the collector that they were facing terrible water problem since the borewells were dried up. The collector instructed the officials to supply water through tankers to the village. The villagers of R.S. Pendekallu in Tuggali mandal complained to the collector that some people encroaching upon the land belonging to the zilla parishad high school in the village as there was no boundary wall to the school. The collector assured them that the encroachments would be removed after inquiry with the MPDO, ZP CEO and the tahsildar. Some people from Kurnool city informed the collector that several accidents were taking place at Ballari Chourasta in the city due to the heavy traffic. The collector said that the transport officials would look into the matter. Collectorate administration officer Sampat Kumar and officials of all government departments, Revenue department participated in the programme.
