RallyKurnool: Ridiculing the Railway Minister for calling the wagon workshop as railway coach factory, TDP politburo member K E Krishnamurthy said here on Tuesday that the minister did not know the difference between the coach factory and wagon workshop. Referring to the demand from Congress leaders that he should resign, the former minister said that if it was railway coach factory he sure would resign but not wagon workshop. Hailing the humanitarian activities of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to extend services to the Char Dham flood victims, he said that it showed his concern for people. "It is an uncalled for comment that Chandrababu was politicising the natural calamity," he added. The credit for transporting the flood victims by chartering a plane and private buses goes to the Telugu Desam Party, he said. Kotla Jaya Suryaprakash Reddy and Chiranjivi had taken group photos with the victims but did nothing for them, he added. He hailed the decision of the TDP chief said that he would not move from Delhi till the last person from Andhra Pradesh got back to the native place. "The TDP has been extending Rs. 10,000 to the victims who have no money with them," he pointed out. Referring to the backwardness of the backward classes in the country, the TDP leader said that injustice was being done to the BCs since independence. "There are 144 castes in the BC list and most of them were socially and economically backward," he added. He demanded a BC Sub-Plan with Rs. 20,000 crore for the upliftment of the BCs. "Though Rs. 3,000 crore has been earmarked for the welfare of BCs in 2012-13 budget, not even Rs. 300 crore was spent," he pointed out. District TDP president Somisetty Venkateswarlu, city unit president Parvez, Ravikumar and others were present.
