Minister TG Venkatesh MLC Sudhakar Babu and MLA P Muralikrishna laid foundation stones for various development works at Panchalingala and Gondiparla villages VenkateshKurnool: Minister for Minor Irrigation T G Venkatesh along with MLC Sudhakar Babu and MLA P Muralikrishna inaugurated additional class rooms constructed at a cost of Rs. 20.6 lakh at Zilla Parishad High school in Panchalingala village and laid foundation stone for voluntary regional training centre to be constructed at a cost of 9.2 crore by the irrigation department. Later, they also inaugurated the building for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayam constructed at a cost Rs. 1.25 crore under Rajiv Vidya Mission. They had also laid foundation stone for E Tandrapadu lift irrigation scheme and Gondiparla lift irrigation scheme. They had inaugurated a pure drinking water plant at Gondiparla village. Addressing the meeting, Minister TG Venkatesh said that the Government had sanctioned several hundreds of crores for undertaking development works in the backward areas of Gondiparla, Panchalingala, E Tandrapadu and others. "Rs. 64 crore for constructing a check dam, Rs. 15 crore for lift irrigations are being spent to bring hundreds of acres under cultivation," he said. The Minister said that the drinking water plants would be set up at a cost of Rs. 2.25 lakh to provide drinking water to five villages on the banks of Tungabhadra River. "A new jail would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 30 crore to reform the hardcore criminals," he added. He recalled that Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Suryaprakash Reddy had sanctioned a wagon workshop here to provide employment to the youth of the area. The Minister appealed to the teachers to strive hard for making the district number one in education by achieving good results during the next academic year. Irrigation SE Sudhakar, Chief Engineer Madhusudana Rao, RVM PO Padmakumari, DEO Nageswara Rao, Kurnool DSP Ramarksihna, Irrigation officials, students, parents and people from the neighbouring villages participated.
