MinisterKurnool: Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Suryaprakash Reddy on Tuesday flagged off two new trains � Kurnool-Secunderabad Inter-city Express and Kurnool-Nandyala inter-city express trains � at the Kurnool railway station. Minister for Minor Irrigation TG Venkatesh, Nandyala MP S.P.Y. Reddy, Nandyala MLA Shilpa Mohan Reddy, MLC Sudhakar Babu, Nandikotkuru MLA Labbi Venkata Swamy, SCR general manager Pandey, district collector C Sudarsan Reddy, DCC president Y Ramaiah were present. Addressing the meeting the Union Minister said that as per the commitments he had made, he upgraded the railway station into city railway station and introduced two new trains. He said that the Central government had sanctioned Rs. 110 crore for establishing a railway coach factory and the work on the factory would begin by September. He said that the coach factory would provide employment for 5,000 youth of the area. The railway minister said that double-decker trains would introduced from Kurnool to Hyderabad-Hyderabad-Vijayawada. "New railway bridges would be constructed at Nandyala, Betamcherla, Done, Veldurti, and at Kotla railway station," he added. Minister for Minor Irrigation T G Venkatesh said that along with the union minister, he had undertaken various development works worth Rs. 700 crore in the last four years. MP S.P.Y. Reddy said that with the improved transportation and connectivity the businesses would flourish in Rayalaseema. MLA Shilpa Mohan Reddy appealed to the railway minister to extend train service up to Tirupati. He also appealed to him to construct a railway over bridge at Nandyala railway station. Former mayor Raghurami Reddy, former ZP chairman Akepogu Venkata Swamy, ZP CEO Suryaprakash, Feroze Begum, railway staff, students and citizens were also present.
