Akshaya Gold director held

• Deposit holders demand repayment

Kurnool: About three hundred deposit holders of Akshaya Gold caught hold of one of its directors Latiff Basha and some of the agents � Adinarayana, Lakshmi Devi, Veeresh and Ramakrishna - and handed them over to the police on Sunday. They demanded immediate repayment of their deposits. However, the Two Town police told them that the case should be referred to the Four Town police station. The deposit holders took the director and the agents to the Four Town police and demanded that the police should recover their amount from the accused. They staged dharna in front of the police station and refused to budge when the police told them that the court has to take action. They even threatened to commit suicide if they were not repaid the amount. The agents told the police that they had collected Rs. 8 lakh from the deposit holders and handed over the money to Latiff Basha. Akshaya Gold director Basha assured them that the money would be refunded if he was given some time.
