Kurnool: As part continuing protests across the district in support of the demand to keep the State united, thousands of Christians assembled at C Camp Church and took out a massive rally that culminated at Rajavihar Circle. After Sunday prayers, Fathers of city church communities formed a human chain at the Rajavihar circle and raised slogans against Sonia Gandhi for announcing the decision to bifurcate the State. People from all the three regions had expended their energy to build the state capital and their interests were at stake now, said the Fathers.
Meanwhile, Bangi Anantaiah, former Mayor, emerged out of the blue posing as ‘Lady’ in front of the District Congress Office to register his protest against the splitting of the State. The former Mayor said that the Congress candidates would find it difficult to retain their deposits in the next year Assembly elections, if the party did not roll back the statement on ‘Telangana’. He warned State and Central ministers belonging to the region against crossing the Tungabhadra River without succeeding in bringing a positive change in the Centre’s stand on the creation of ‘Telangana’.
