In response to the call given by the Auto Rickshaw Unions for 24-hour band in the city, all auto rickshaws went off the roads here on Monday demanding immediate withdrawal of the decision to divide the state. The people in the city were put to lot of inconvenience with the total bandh observed by auto rickshaw drivers in the city. As the agitation entered 34th day on Monday, all government offices remained closed with the participation of the government employees in the agitation.

The Medical JAC organised a mock operation to the brain to the effigy of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and confirmed that there was no brain. Later, they burnt down the effigy of Sonia Gandhi. Dr Mallikarjun said that people without brains only would think of dividing the state. The members of the joint action committee of the teachers have performed final rituals to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Central and State ministers at Raj Vihar Centre.
The agitators went to the Youth Congress office in the city and obstructed the meeting and stopped district Youth Congress president Vamsichand from addressing the meeting. They tore down the flexi of Rahul Gandhi in the office. A melee ensued with the Youth Congress activists attempted to retaliate.
The farmers and traders of C Camp ryot bazaar have taken out a rally with vegetable garlands. The teachers’ union members stopped the working of the Excise office and asked the Excise commissioner to come out of the office before locking down the office.
The members of Commercial Tax employees’ joint action committee have taken out a massive rallyinthe city from their office to the Raj Vihar centre. The employees of Medical and Health department staged a protest demonstration at NTR Circle and consecrated the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with milk. The members of Animal Husbandry launched a rally up to NTR Circle.
Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike launched by the advocates has entered 33rd day, the TDP activists’ relay hunger strike entered 30th day and the relay hunger strike by the Congress activists entered 30th day. The relay hunger strike launched by Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika has entered 11th day.
The relay hunger strike began by ration shop dealers before the Civil Supplies Office has reached 9th day. Kurnool rationshop dealers association president Vijayalakshmi called upon the people’s representatives to join hands to stop the bifurcation of the state. She said that the Congress leaders should be held responsible for the decision to divide the state.
Association of Oriental Languages Association have launched indefinite hunger strike before the Ambedkar Bhavan. Meanwhile, the police have foiled the indefinite hunger strike launched by Srinivas Reddy and Vijay under the aegis of Nandikotkuru joint action committee at the Patel Centre.
Former MLA quits Cong
Former MLA Challa Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday submitted his resignation to the Congress party in protest against the decision to divide the state which would make the State Dark Andhra Pradesh. Addressing newsmen at Mourya Inn hotel here he said that the division of the state could be stalled if the 175 MLAs and 35 MPs submitted resignations immediately. He said that he was sending his resignation letter to the PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana.
