Creative ways of making money - Learnings from GHMC

This is a new way of making money and keeping the pending work eternally pending. GHMC shall put up in its official website the complete details of public works sanctioned and started along with contact details of the contractor and the supervising officer from GHMC. This has been my plea since 18 months!!
The manholes are made with poor quality and they are replaced several times. This is another creative way of making money. Street lights, stray dog catching squads are other avenues that can not be leveraged for creating extra money substantially. Therefore they remain as they are.
Road digging is another aspect that needs to be checked thoroughly in the city. Any one at any time at any place can dig a public road and get away. There is no way to curb illegal digging. The reason is when the road is laid the coordination that should have been ensured was not ensured so DoT, Electricity, Cable Networks, Optical Fibre Cables of various companies are either disturbed or removed or relayed.
Further drainage connection for a new house means digging the road only as the manholes are designed in the median of the road. Generally manholes shall be at the side of the roads so that no digging of road is needed. There are no ducts to run the cables safely and every company or agency either govt of private needs to dig the road to serve their customers. This is the most obnoxious way of working in GHMC. Speed breakers are the world's worst in Hyderabad.
Hope to see that the GHMC Elections change the city life into more liveable. ​
