Chennai (Tamil Nadu) : Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president MK Stalin on Thursday said the 2G case verdict proved there was no wrong done.

He made this remark after a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Delhi on Thursday morning acquitted all accused in the case. Prominent among the acquitted accused were DMK leader and former telecom minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi.

Stalin, while addressing a press conference here, said, "The acquittal of all the accused by the special court has brought happiness to us. The verdict further proves that there was no wrong done. All this has been proved."

"Justice has won, this is what M Karunanidhi had also said, opposition and media had put in all efforts to malign us in this case, all has been proved wrong," Stalin added.

The alleged scam was among the major corruption scandals that came to light during the second term of the UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh. A Raja was then telecom minister as the DMK was a coalition partner in the Manmohan Singh led Government.

It relates to the granting of 2G spectrum licence allocations in 2007-08 which caused, according to a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, a loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the public exchequer
