Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed the officials to complete pending works of land acquisition for Kaleshwaram Project in four days.

The minister on Wednesday reviewed the progress of land acquisition and construction of barrages and gates with the senior officials in Jayshankar Bhupally district. Speaking on the occasion, he said that all pending works pertaining to land acquisition should be completed within four days. Further, he said that structural designs of barrages should be finalised by January 15.

He wanted the works on Sandela, Medigadda and Annaraj barrages to be expedited. He informed that the Sandela will have 74 Gates, Annaram - 66 gates and Medigadda barrage will have 85 gates. He said the gates should be erected as per scheduled. He told officials that he would visit the project sites again on January 17 to review the works.

Meanwhile, the minister also inspected the works on Chinna Kaleshwaram Lift Scheme in Manthani Assembly segment. He asked officials to complete the works by June 2018.
