Four of a family found dead in Medchal lake, suicide pact suspected

A family of four in a suspected case of suicide was found dead in Keesara area of Medchal district on Tuesday.

According to the police, the husband and wife jumped into the lake along with their children who were minors.

The deceased family - Ramesh, his wife Manipadiga Shyamala and their daughters Geeta and Divya had gone missing from around 2.30 pm on Monday following a dispute with the family members over financial matters.

However, when the four didn’t return on Monday night, the relatives began searching for them and found Ramesh’s scooter parked near the lake.

They found his body floating near the lake and alerted the police who sprung into action to search the rest of the family.

They retrieved the other bodies and shifted them to Gandhi Hospital morgue. The Keesara police registered a case and are investigating.
