A video of a sub-inspector thrashing youngsters for teasing a girl, has gone viral on social media. Several Telugu news channels too aired the video on Wednesday.

Going by the details, a girl belonging to Kapulapalem village in Achanta mandal of West Godavari district attended a Tirunal (an annual fair) on the occasion of Mahasivarathri that was organised in the mandal. Three youngsters from Seshammacheruvu village stalked the girl, teased her and followed her till her house. The girl along with her father lodged a complaint with the police. A case of eve-teasing and harassment has been registered against the three youths.
The three of them were arrested and brought to the police station. Furious over the boys' behavior, inspector AGS Murhty assaulted them in the police station. A relative of the accused who came to the police station, captured the incident and shared the video with his friends on WhatsApp and Facebook.
When questioned over his act, the SI bluffed to the media saying that he reprimanded the youths but did not manhandle them.
